Shondra E. Wygal is an Associate State Director of Outreach and Advocacy in Houston, Texas. As Associate State Director, Shondra manages AARP's educational campaigns and outreach efforts in the greater Houston and surrounding areas.

 

Shondra has more than ten years of advocacy and campaign experience and has spent countless hours working on issue and political campaigns. Her experience ranges from local/county, statewide including several national issue campaigns. She is a trained mediator and an active member in her community.

 

Shondra was appointed by Mayor Annise Parker to serve on the City of Houston's Public Safety Advisory Committee and Keep Houston Beautiful Commission.  She represents AARP on the Area Planning Advisory Council of the Harris County Area Agency on Aging.

 

She is a native of Houston, graduate of Jack Yates Sr. High Magnet School of Communications in Houston's Third Ward. She also holds B.A. degree in Politics and Government and Women's Studies from Ohio Wesleyan University.
