Timothy "Tim" Horan, Jr. is a founding partner of HTZ Investments, a privately held investment and development firm with real estate interests throughout the United States. The first Board of Commissioners' appointee of Mayor Sylvester Turner, Mr. Horan brings over 40 years of experience in real estate law, mortgage lending, banking and finance. He has served as an advisor to former Houston Mayor Bill White on housing issues and worked closely with the city's Department of Housing and Community Development.

 

Mr. Horan's business practice focusses on the management and acquisition of real estate projects throughout Texas - centering on developmental projects in retail, industrial, and medical professional sectors, as well as multi-family housing. He shares a genuine interest in the issues concerning affordable housing, along with providing assistance to low-income and homeless individuals and families.

 

Mr. Horan earned his Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Southern Methodist University and his Juris Doctorate from The University of Houston Law Center. He has also served as a member of the board of directors of the Greater Houston Builders Association, as well as charitable organizations such as Mental Health America and the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County.
