Joseph ‘Jody’ Proler

Proler is a 3rd generation Houstonian who has been active both in the Houston Banking Industry as well as local non-profits. Proler’s family came to Houston in the early 1900’s. The family created Proler International Corp (NYSE), the country’s largest metal recycling operation with over 35 plants around the United States.  A graduate of The University of Texas and The National Commercial Lending School at The University of Oklahoma, Proler was part of the originating group that started Origin Bank in Houston over 10 years ago. Previously, Proler was an executive at Encore Bank.  Proler brings to the HHA board a lengthy history of analytics that can help determine the most advantageous developments for HHA.

Proler currently serves on the Endowment Board for Congregation Emanu El and the Houston Jewish Community Foundation, both endowments with Assets Under Management of significant size. Proler has previously served on Texas Southern University, Jewish Community Center, Houston Symphony Society, and American Heart Association boards.

Proler and his wife have two children and are active volunteers in the Houston community.
