All applicants are required to provide verification of eligibility for all preferences claimed on their pre-application. Preferences will not be accommodated unless proper verification is provided as required.

The HHA has implemented a new computer-randomized lottery to select applicants for placement on the Public Housing waitlist. All applicants will be screened for eligibility and preferences when their application comes to the top of the list.

Applicants who are already on the HHA’s Public Housing Wait List WILL NOT be affected by the newly implemented selection process, for sites that are not listed. However, applicants may choose to apply for any newly listed public housing locations.

The HHA is unable to anticipate the number of applicants that will apply for housing assistance. Therefore, a maximum number of applications will be established, per bedroom size, at each property. Once the Wait List closes a computer-randomized lottery process will randomly select the maximum applications, per the respective site. All pre-applications received during this period will be considered as applying at the same time. It does not matter, if a pre-application is received on the first or last day.

Applicants may access HHA computers to submit online applications at the HHA locations. Computer access is available Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm at the HHA locations listed below and at the HHA Administrative Office, located at 2640 Fountain View, Houston, Texas 77057, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
