Summer Fellowship Program

The Houston Housing Authority (HHA) is excited to announce its 10-week Summer Fellowship Program, inviting all degree-seeking students to participate. The housing authority will select 10-15 students to participate in a unique opportunity to gain practical experience within one of the most prominent housing authorities in the nation. Fellows will engage across various departments, contributing to impactful projects while benefiting from mentorship and professional development opportunities. At the program’s conclusion, fellows will present a capstone project showcasing the insights and contributions they have gained during their fellowship. Employment is not guaranteed upon conclusion of the fellowship.

Eligibility:
Minimum GPA of 2.5 and open to the following majors:
– Finance
– Construction Management
– Political Science
– Social Work
– Community Development
– Urban Planning
– Education
– Sociology
– Information Technology
– Business Management
– Human Resources
– Communications/Public Relations
– Public Policy
– Must be a degree-seeking student or recent college graduate
– Commitment to a 10-week program (June 3rd – August 9th)

1. Executive Management
2. Information Technology
3. Finance
4. Housing Choice Voucher
5. Legal (Must currently be in law school)
6. Procurement
7. Public Housing Operations
8. Human Resources Training & Development
9. Real Estate Investments & Development
10. Community Affairs and Communications
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a degree-seeking student or recent semester college graduate (Jr., Sr., Graduate  Student Preferred). 
Commitment to a 10-week program (June-August).
Complete the application and upload a resume, official or unofficial transcript,
and a minimum 500 words essay about, “Why you should be selected as an HHA Intern”.
Complete and successfully pass a background check and drug screening
Required majors are: Finance, Journalism, Social Work, Psychology,
Information Technology, Human Resources, Communications/Public Relations, Public Policy/Administration, Legal (Must be a SULC current Law Student.)
